French billionaire Pinault became the new owner of Hollywood’s talent agency powerhouse CAA in late 2023, after his family investment company Artemis took a majority stake. Artemis’s portfolio also includes Kering, the luxury goods group that houses names like Gucci and Saint Laurent. Pinault, who’s been married to Salma Hayek since 2009, has in recent years brought Kering closer to the entertainment world, becoming a major sponsor of the Cannes Film Festival, and launching Kering’s Women in Motion program which showcases inspiring female talent, producers and executives and is celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2025. He and his father, Francois Pinault, who founded both Kering and Artemis, also played a crucial role in the rebuilding of the Notre-Dame Cathedral, having donated 100 million euros after it was destroyed in a blaze five years ago.
